Gail Roberts departed GPDV on 17 January. The board decided to defer the filling of the position until after the report on the review of the program has been received. It was clear from the survey of division CEOs that a division consultant role is still considered necessary by a majority of divisions.
GPDV Board division allocations
The board adopted the Board allocations to divisions. Divisions will be notified of the change of process and board members will plan to meet with divisions within the first 3 months of the year.
The board decided to reschedule the June board meeting to the 20 June. The July teleconference will be on Monday 14 July, the August meeting on Friday 8 August.
Amendment to Articles and Memorandum
The ATO has endorsed GPDV for Deductible Gift Recipient status subject to the Memorandum of Association being amended to include the provisions that have been included in the Articles.
The board resolved to amend the Memorandum of Association as required by the ATO.
The board received Terry Ahern�s report and
noted lack of communication from hospitals to GPs about patient�s status on waiting lists, including out-patients� appointments. The board also noted that hospitals appear to be preventing the development of waiting lists by not granting out-patient appointments for months at a time. The board agreed to seek a meeting with the Minister of Health to discuss these and other issues.
The latest information from the Review Panel on 16 January is that just over 200 submissions were received and that the panel is reading these and conducting some further meetings. The next meeting of the Panel is on Friday 30 January after which the Chair, Ron Phillips, will meet the minister. ADGP will be meeting with the Panel this Thursday (23/11/03).
The topic for the February Forum will be HARP and GP/Hospital Integration. The board received John McEncroe�s report on the HARP Reference Group meeting on the 18 December, which received reports from the seven working parties. Lenora has submitted the draft of the GP Hospital Interface Working Party report to the HARP Reference Group. The recommendations relate to the improvement of communication between the acute section and general practice. On 30 January the GP Hospital interface working party will meet to discuss the paper. The next HARP reference group meeting will be held on 4 February where final reports from all reference groups will be received. The Final Report will be distributed in March at the DHS Managing Hospital Demand Conference.

Bill has begun discussions about the development of an Agreement between GPDV and the hospital. This will be similar to our agreement with Women�s & Children�s Health and will comprise a five-year agreement with an annual setting of priorities for action
