Aged Care Network Meeting � 8 May 2008

 

Objectives

 

  • To assist ACGPPI program staff to understand the aged care performance indicators to be introduced for 2008-2009
  • To provide an opportunity for ACGPPI program staff to exchange ideas about planning for 2008-2009
  • To exchange program ideas and activities with other ACGPPI program staff
  • To further develop an understanding of the role of allied health in aged care  

 


 Session 1: Allied Health

 

  • Stephanie Dyer, Dietitian, Private Practice - The role of the dietitian in aged care
  • Amanda Kunelius, Occupational Therapist, Austin Health The role of Occupational Therapy in aged care.
  • Questions � speakers will answer questions from the audience.

 


 Session 2: What�s Happening in the Divisions

 

  • Jill Day, ACGPPI program manager South City GPN. Food and feeding management in RACFs
  • Julie Sutherland and Dr Doug Barrett, Central Victorian GP Network Geographical zoning and allocation of GPs to RACFs.
  • Susan Denny, ACGPPI program manager CWGDGP. Disaster Recovery Program
  • Angelika Patras (for Julie Dunbabin), ACGPPI program manager GP Tasmania. Diabetes Management Resource Kit for Aged Care Facilities in Tasmania 

 


Session 3: State and National Issues 

 

  • Gail Roberts, Policy Development Manager, DHS, Advance Care Planning Why advance 'advance care planning'? What is the bigger picture and what can you do right now?
  • Michelle Callander, State Office, Department of Health and Ageing Reporting and planning and the new performance indicators
  • Debbie Bampton, Program Advisor, Aged Care Panels, AGPN Reporting and planning and the new performance indicators.

 

Round Table planning: Participants will have the opportunity to work together to start to develop a program plan for the 2008-2009 year
