Objectives
- To assist ACGPPI program staff to understand the aged care performance indicators to be introduced for 2008-2009
- To provide an opportunity for ACGPPI program staff to exchange ideas about planning for 2008-2009
- To exchange program ideas and activities with other ACGPPI program staff
- To further develop an understanding of the role of allied health in aged care
Session 1: Allied Health
- Stephanie Dyer, Dietitian, Private Practice - The role of the dietitian in aged care
- Amanda Kunelius, Occupational Therapist, Austin Health The role of Occupational Therapy in aged care.
- Questions � speakers will answer questions from the audience.
Session 2: What�s Happening in the Divisions
- Jill Day, ACGPPI program manager South City GPN. Food and feeding management in RACFs
- Julie Sutherland and Dr Doug Barrett, Central Victorian GP Network Geographical zoning and allocation of GPs to RACFs.
- Susan Denny, ACGPPI program manager CWGDGP. Disaster Recovery Program
- Angelika Patras (for Julie Dunbabin), ACGPPI program manager GP Tasmania. Diabetes Management Resource Kit for Aged Care Facilities in Tasmania
Session 3: State and National Issues
- Gail Roberts, Policy Development Manager, DHS, Advance Care Planning Why advance 'advance care planning'? What is the bigger picture and what can you do right now?
- Michelle Callander, State Office, Department of Health and Ageing Reporting and planning and the new performance indicators
- Debbie Bampton, Program Advisor, Aged Care Panels, AGPN Reporting and planning and the new performance indicators.
Round Table planning: Participants will have the opportunity to work together to start to develop a program plan for the 2008-2009 year
