Allied Health
The inclusion of allied health service providers commenced in July 2007. Many divisions have not worked with allied health providers in the past so much of the initial activity involved locating and meeting local professionals and completing a needs assessment exercise with GPs and facilities to determine what allied health activities would be most useful.
Allied health professionals have been invited to work with divisional aged care panels to advise and assist with education for facility staff, quality activities and in developing allied health service models for residents in aged care facilities.
GPV has been working with the Victorian based allied health professional organisations to assist with information about the Panels Initiative for allied health service providers.
