
Quality Use of Medicines State-wide Reference Group
GPV convenes a reference group quarterly. The reference group has membership from several organisations representing different aspects of medication safety. The group is chaired by Dr Julie Thompson, a GPDV board member and a practicing general practitioner.
The aim of the group is to:
- Develop an overall shared understanding of the issues involved in the quality use of medicines in general practice specifically and primary care generally
- Provide leadership and advice on quality use of medicines activity within general practice and primary care
- Identify issues that need addressing to improve the quality use of medicines in general practice and primary care
- Draw the various programs together and assist in the coordination of effort
- Identify and articulate policy and direction changes needed
- Develop and monitor an appropriate work plan for Victorian QUM activities
