Competency Standards Toolkit for Nurses in General Practice

A set of competency standards, used in conjunction with core nursing competency standards (developed by the Australian Nursing Council), is a useful framework for practice nurses to use to assess their own skills and knowledge and to plan their own professional development pathway. The competency standards should also assist employers with performance management and recruitment processes.
