Support for Practice Nurses
Support available to General Practices and Nurses
There are many resources available for practice nurses, the general practice team and NiGP program staff.
Other resources that will be of assisance to both the practice nurse and the NiGP program staff that support them include;
- National Mentoring Pilot Program for Nursing in General Practice (View AGPN webiste)
Funded through DOHA and conducted by AGPN and the Australian Mentor centre. This Pilot program aims to provide a structured mentoring program for nurses in general practice.
- Leadership and Development Program for Nurses in General Practice (View AGPN webiste)
AGPN are working with University of New England Partnerships to establish a Practice Nurse Leadership and Development Program. This program is designed to assist with raising the professional profile of practice nursing and also provides a career pathway for nurses looking to move into leadership and management roles.
