Outpatients
In response to the Victorian Auditor Generals Report Access to Specialist Medical Outpatient Care (June 2006) the Victorian Department of Human Services established an Outpatient Improvement and Innovation Strategy with a two-three year timeframe.
An advisory committee has been established with a number of sub-committees. GPLO representatives have been appointed to these committees and GPV is playing a support role to these representatives.
To assist in general practice representation both on a local level and state-wide, GPV consulted the general practice community on their requirements of outpatient services. The resulting document was endorsed by the Board of GPV on February 2007.
