  • Inform division staff of future developments for the Access to Allied Health Services Projects
  • Provide an opportunity for division staff to provide advice and comment to the Department on the AAH Projects
  • Discuss issues arising from the APS survey concerning AAHPs and develop strategies to address these issues
  • Share information about the progress of the projects within the divisions network

Future Developments of the Access to Allied Health Projects

Anne Croft, DoHA, will present on the National Evaluation findings for the Better Outcomes in Mental Health Care initiative with reference to the Access to Allied Health Services Projects component. There will be an opportunity for division staff to discuss the future of these projects from their experience in managing them.

Building Relationships with Allied Health Providers

Lyn Littlefield, APS, will present the findings of a survey conducted by the APS on psychologists responses to the Access to Allied Health Services Projects. This session will extend discussion on issues associated with engaging, recruiting and working with mental health providers participating in the projects which were raised last year.

Psychology Trainees Placement in GP Clinics Project

Dr Paul Ryan, Monash University, will present on a pilot project funded under the DoHA which aims to place Psychology postgraduate students in GP clinics. Feedback from division staff who have managed such projects in their divisions will be welcome.

General Discussion

This session will continue discussion of issues raised earlier in the day and provide an opportunity for division staff to share information regarding the ongoing development of their projects.
