Population health profiles

Population health profiles have been compiled for each Division by the Public Health Information Development Unit (PHIDU), a collaborating unit of the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare, located at The University of Adelaide in the Australian Institute for Social Research.

The Population Health Profiles have been designed to provide a description of the population of each Division, and aspects of their health. In summary, the profile includes a number of tables, maps and graphs to profile population health in the Division and provides comparisons with other areas (eg. country Victoria and Australia).  Specific topics covered include:

  • a socio-demographic profile
  • GP workforce and activity data
  • immunisation rates
  • rates of premature death;
  • and estimates of the prevalence of chronic disease and selected risk factors

Divisional Population Health Profiles can be accessed at: http://www.publichealth.gov.au/gp_divisions_vic.html
