Diabetes Outcome Payment
In November 2001 the PIP diabetes initiative was introduced. The initiative contains three components. The aim of the third component the outcomes payment is to provide an incentive for practices to improve detection and care of patients with diabetes and is funded by the Health Insurance Commission (HIC).
