The Divisions Program in Victoria The main aim of the Divisions Program is to improve health outcomes for patients by encouraging GPs to work together and with other health professionals to raise the quality of health service delivery at the local level. It does this by enabling GPs:
There are 120 divisions of general practice across Australia with 30 in Victoria, of which 15 are in metropolitan Melbourne and 15 in the rest of the state. Around 90% of Victorian GPs are members of divisions. There are state-based organisations of divisions (SBOs) in each state and territory. Australian Divisions of General Practice (ADGP) is the national organisation of divisions, and has division representatives from each state on its board.
