In 2000 the GPDV Board held an independently facilitated Communications Workshop to gain an understanding of the key audiences for GPDV's communication activities, audience perceptions of GPDV and GPDV goals for further enhancing communication effectiveness.

Based on this feedback, a Communications Charter was adopted by the Board in 2002. This document sets out the variety of methods GPDV will communicate with its community of interest and the frequency of that communication.
