Resources for Practice Support Staff and GP Trainers

Practice Support Staff and Resources

1. GPDV Compiled Q&As

2. Other Useful Resources

GPDV has completed the BCBC poster as a component of our CDM item support to divisions. The poster is an update of a poster produced in '02. The changes incorporated are:

  • Updated MBS rates including bulk billing incentive (1st Nov '05)
  • Incorporation of new MBS items introduced since '02 CMA, RMMR, ATSI Adult Health Check, GPMP, TCA and Allied Health Items
  • Additional row highlighting role for Practice Nurse/Aboriginal Health Worker

The poster is suitable for General Practice staff rooms, common areas and for divisional program workers.

The posters are printed on gloss paper and are in A2. We have printed ample copies for Victorian and Tasmanian Divisions to provide practices. They can distribute CPD events such as the GPDV 'CDM team' events due to be rolled out early '06. Please order through Scott Bennett at s.bennett@gpdv.com.au.

3. EPC CDM Flowcharts

GPDV has developed a set of MBS flowcharts in publisher 2000 format and in PDF format for use by divisions of general practice in providing information to GPs about the EPC CDM item numbers.

  1. Medicare Services in Aged Care Homes.
  2. EPC CDM Items Flowchart - please click here. (146Kb)

To view an example of how the above EPC CDM Items Flowchart should look with a division logo, please click here. The example pdf shows North West Tasmania's logo inserted. (165Kb)

To replace NWTDGP logo please download a copy of the publisher version from here. (1,136Kb)
Note: please do not change any of the written content. Additionally, ou may need to view the master form to delete the current logo.

GPDV gives permission to divisions of General Practice to download these two flowcharts so that divisional logos can be added for use at a local level. To ensure  version control and acknowledgement of the source we request that no further amendments are made. Your recommendations and feedback for improvements for future versions are welcome.

Note: The purpose of this flowchart is to provide an overview or introduction to the MBS items. It should not be used instead of the MBS. It is recommended that GPs refer to the MBS explanatory notes A.20, A.22 for a definitive guide.
