GPDV Board summary
Teleconference 26 September 2005

1. Division Board visits
Since the last board meeting board members have visited 4 divisions - West Vic, Southcity, Knox, Central West Gippsland.

2. RWAV board
The Board accepted the recommendation that Rob be re-appointed to the RWAV board.

3. Divisions Review Implementation Committee (RIC)
The Board received an update from Bill on the RIC meeting of 23 September and the continuing work of the working groups. The main item on the agenda was a presentation on the funding formula by the consultant, Prof Rosemary Calder. Another draft report will be available next month and the consultancy will likely run on into next year.

4. ADGP/SBO (ASBO) quarterly meeting
The Board received an update from John on the Coalition of ADGP and the SBOs (ASBO) which met on 25-26 August in Adelaide.
The meeting made some changes to ADGP’s draft Primary Health Care Position Statement, which is now out in the Network for consultation

5. Primary Health Care Policy
The Board received an update from Bill and made suggestions and comments to be included in discussions and draft.   Divisions have also had the opportunity for comments on the paper. Responses, presentation and discussion will take place at the meeting on 27 September.  The meeting will produce a final Victorian response which is due at ADGP on 30th.

6. Benzodiazepines
The Board discussed the report and considered it would be advantageous to approach the Guild and the PSA to discuss strategy and include important issues for the agenda with the PSA. 

7. Health Assist Line (HAL)
The Board accepted the recommended that the invitation by Daniel Andrews MP, Parliamentary Secretary for Health, to join the External Stakeholder Group for the HAL be accepted.  The Board also agreed that GPDV continue to work in other ways to influence the way that HAL works.

8. Support for GPLOs
The Board accepted the recommendation that GPDV approach DHS to seek funds to support the GPLOs' email list and website and to provide workshops during the year on the same pattern as those we provide for divisions. 

9. RVEEH Implementation Plan for MOU
The Board received a report from Lenora on the progress on implementation plan for MoU with RVEEH.  The Board discussed the suggested issues in the report and agreed that other items as discussed be included in the guidelines.

10. Meeting with Minister
Bill informed the Board of a possible meeting with Minister Pike, which has come from the College through the GP Alliance group.  The proposed date is 26th October 2005 and John Meaney will be attending.

The next meeting will be face to face on Friday 28th October at 10.15 am
