Please note: Access to the GPR is limited to Victorian hospitals and divisions of general practice and it may only be used by hospitals for the transmission to GPs of information about patients. It is not available for promotional purposes or to commercial organisations.
The General Practitioner Register (GPR) is an initiative of General Practice Divisions Victoria (GPDV), funded by the Victorian Department of Human Services and the Commonwealth Department of Health & Ageing. The GPR is a centralised repository of accurate information about general practitioners and the contact details for them at locations where they work. This is in response to a growing demand for accurate GP contact information for automated notifications and electronic discharge summaries.
The GPR is designed to facilitate continuity of care through faster and more accurate communications between hospitals and GPs.
